A Narrow Escape

He ran in zigzags as fast as his legs could carry him. It was a really dark tunnel and the ground was slippery from years of spilled oil and grease. His life was in grave danger and he knew it. In the distance, behind him, he heard heavy thuds of rapidly approaching feet. Then he felt a sharp rapid graze on his left ear, followed by a deafening roar.
The sight of a light on the other end of the tunnel told him he was still alive, and the thumping of his heart, so audibly expressed the voice of raging adrenaline. Suddenly, he hit a wall, headfirst and crashed to the floor. It was a dead end, a cul-de-sac. There was nowhere else to go. The enemies were close upon him now.

He looked up, like a student chewing on his pen in an examination hall, looking up to the ceiling, wondering where the answers had all gone. Suddenly, he saw that same light he had seen before. Within that instant, he knew it must be a manhole cover, for he could distinctly hear the noise of the street overhead. He punched with all his might and the tunnel was flooded with the brightness of the sunlight. He jumped up as if he was made to fly. He found himself in the very centre of the city. He looked behind him and heaved a sigh of relief as he realized that his pursuers had dissolved back into the darkness of the tunnel.

No matter how scary and tough it seems. There is always a way of escape until we choose to ignore it.

1 Corinthians 10:13-
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it .

God does not allow us to face challenges we cannot overcome. We are still under because we stopped looking for ways to escape. We decided to give in to our struggles. We let ourselves become overwhelmed. We stopped trusting God.

What challenges are you going through today in your work, studies, family or relationships? What is your giving-up excuse?
Remember, there is nothing you face that is so uncommon that it has never happened before. Some people have fallen to that temptation, some have remained on the ground, some have got back up to their feet, some people have conquered it.
And the Lord is saying today that the only reason you are experiencing it is because you have all it takes to overcome.

2 Peter 1:3
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

So, when all you can see is that dead end, that wall, Know that there is still a way of escape. The Lord\’s way. Look for it. DON\’T quit!
